Refund policy

The whole policy, in one paragraph, on one page.

No attendance requirement. No in-person condition. No justification required. Nothing in the contract that contradicts what is on this page.

You pay a $2,900 deposit. We deliver a working MVP within 48 hours of kickoff. If you tell us within 7 calendar days of delivery that you do not want to continue, we refund the full $2,900 to your original payment method and revoke access to the hosted MVP. You do not have to explain why, attend a call, or meet anyone in person.

The details, since details are where these things go wrong

What starts the clock. “Kickoff” is the moment we confirm scope in writing after your deposit clears — not the moment you pay. We will tell you the kickoff time and the delivery deadline in writing, in the same message.

What counts as delivery. Working software, reachable in a browser, running on our infrastructure, with login credentials issued to you. If we miss the 48-hour deadline for any reason, you are entitled to a full refund immediately, whether or not you like what we eventually deliver.

How to request it. Reply to any email from us, or write to hello@ownerbuiltsoftware.com, within 7 calendar days of delivery. One sentence is enough. We process refunds within 5 business days of the request.

What happens to the software. During the MVP phase we host it and you hold credentials. If you take the refund, we revoke those credentials and delete your data on request. This is the exchange that makes the policy this simple: you are not risking money, and we are not handing over a build we were not paid for.

If you continue. The $2,900 credits in full against the first payment on your build. Nothing is charged twice.

What is not refundable. Payments made on the full build after you have approved the MVP and authorized the start of work. Those are governed by the build agreement, which sets out milestones and what happens if either side stops. The $2,900 deposit is the part covered by this page.

Why we wrote it this way

It is common in this industry to publish a headline guarantee and then condition it in the contract — attendance requirements, satisfaction defined by the vendor, windows that start before delivery. We think that is a bad trade: it buys a few extra closes and costs the whole category its credibility.

So this page is the policy. If our written agreement ever says something narrower than what is on this page, this page governs. Ask us to put that sentence in your contract and we will.

This page describes our commercial policy in plain language and is not a substitute for the signed agreement, which contains the full terms. Have your counsel review it — genuinely, we would rather you did. Terms of Service.

A refund policy is only worth something before you pay.

Read it now, then book the call. Forty-five minutes, free, and you keep the proposal.
